The short definition of Artificial Intelligence:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is basically human intelligence simulated by machines. The most common example of such simulation is computer systems. Some examples of AI applications are Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Vision, and Speech Recognition. The main focus of AI encompasses three cognitive skills:
Cognitive skills help the brain remember and reason. Some examples of human cognitive skills are Sustained attention, Selective attention, long-term memory, and auditory/visual processing. To understand ai further, it’s important to know what is deep learning. Deep Learning is a subset of ai that uses a set of mathematical algorithms to model high-level abstractions in data. These models are called artificial neural networks (ANNs), which are inspired by the biological neural networks that constitute animal brains.
AI is the future because automation does not require a human touch! AI can analyze information and come up with a solution for certain problems on its own! This saves time and effort when you’re in a rush or overwhelmed with work. Some examples of common AI applications are Language Translation, Face & Emotion Recognition, Fraud Detection, Medical Diagnostics, Social Media Content Moderation, etc. One of the most common ai systems out there is Siri, the intelligent personal assistant on every iPhone. AI can also be a helpful tool for employees! For example, a company might use ai to gather information and determine patterns of work that an employee finds repetitive or boring. The system would then automate those tasks so employees can focus more on creative projects.
Voice assistants like Alexa are great for simplifying our lives by completing simple tasks without having to lift a finger! For example, instead of getting up to turn off the lights after watching your favorite movie, you could just say “Alexa, turn off my living room lamp.” You don’t need anyone else to help you–you can do it all by yourself! Some other popular applications of ai are a self-driving car, a chatbot assistant on a website, a virtual personal trainer.
AI has a wide range of applications! It can be a helpful tool for humans to do a certain task faster and more efficiently than a human could alone. But there’s a catch–we might lose our jobs because ai is cheaper and more efficient! On the bright side, we will have more free time to focus on other projects that require less effort or time from us. In general, ai helps businesses run smoother and saves employees time so they can focus on bigger activities without being overwhelmed with small tasks.
